Not your granddaddys Galaga
Over-engineered, with endless dismissals of character dialog boxes. Very long content download procedure. Way too easy until Level ("Area") 18 or so (there are 100 "Areas".
I actually fell asleep three times while playing and woke up to find I was still alive and hadnt died yet. This is because unlike the original Galaga game you have a shield that can get hit quite a lot of times before your ship is destroyed.
The "Space Dandy" storyline is actually mildly amusing although youll b dismissing 100s of dialog boxes to read through it.
There is a quite convoluted system for purchasing and equipping upgrades to your ship.
Then there is the apparently Space Dandy-tied, ridiculous "BooBies" store and with a shopgirl that has a cartoon camel-toe. Egads!!!
Galagas challenging stages are not found here.
There are some cool bosses to fight at the end of each Area. Although the Area backgrounds and Bosses start repeating themselves early on. Although the bosses may become more difficult to defeat on later levels.
Anyhow. If you can stand tapping a lot between actually playing, by all means pick this one up.
